Steamboat Springs Education Fund (SSEF) is a non-profit, independent corporation that administers the proceeds of the half cent sales tax - about five cents on a $10 purchase - to expand resources and enhance the educational achievement of students in the Steamboat Springs, Soroco and Hayden school districts. SSEF was established in 1993 and extended by voter approval in three subsequent elections.
The Steamboat Springs Education Fund Board of Directors reviews requests presented through its Commission and awards gifts that enhance student achievement and are in line with mission statements of the 3 districts.
