The Steamboat Springs Education Fund Board is a non-profit, independent corporation that administers proceeds of the one-half cent city sales tax to expand resources and enhance student achievement in the Steamboat Springs RE-2 School District.
Established in 1993 and extended by voter approval in three subsequent elections, the Fund Board reviews requests presented through its three commissions—Education Excellence, Technology and Capital—and awards gifts that raise the bar for student performance; technology advancements and facility improvements. Keeping Our Promises
Over the past 15 years, the Fund Board has
regularly reported to voters what the intended educational use of the tax revenue would be and then faithfully allocated gifts to extend small class size, upgrade and integrate new technologies and support other practical and innovative programs not covered in the district budget. Read more>
